I read the AARP article about building a consensus on brain health in October edition and I was inspired by the AARP Global Council Brain Health efforts.
The arguments on the heading above lay on the five elements that we can utilize during pre-travel, in travel, and post travel. I think the individual travel arrangement will benefit more for this exercise compared to the tour arrangement.
The five elements consist of:
- Exercising our muscles by doing lots of walk
- Socializing with other people and adaptation to new environment
- Relaxation from work and routine stress, including sleep well
- Consciously selective on what we eat and drink
- Research, planning, observation, making decision for plan B if plan A does not work. For example, what to do when we trapped in the street demonstration in a foreign place.
There may be some pros and cons on the arguments but I do believe vacation travel can also be used as a media for neuro therapy that benefit brain health.
